We want all candidates to be informed that there are many steps to the hiring process and it is not intended to be overwhelming. In some cases it can take months from the time the job posting is made until the time of hiring.    

FIREFIGHTER POSTION

TESTING REQUIREMENTS

Must pass Tri-State Alliance testing process and be current on qualification list

 REQUIREMENTS (candidates MUST submit supporting documents)

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Vision sufficient to operate hand and power tools; and conduct patient evaluations; read video monitors, gauges, maps, SOPs, rules regulations, and training documents
  • Valid Missouri driver’s license with no suspensions, revocations, or any other significant moving violations within the last three (3) years. Candidates must pass a Driver's License Check
  • IFSAC or Missouri DFS FF I & II Certifications 
  • Missouri EMT-B or EMT-P license; please include PALS and ACLS Certifications
  • Completed and signed Nixa Fire District Application for Employment
  • Resume and letters of recommendation (optional)
  • Formal education diplomas
  • Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must pass Background Check; due to the nature of public safety as a Firefighter
